Romelu Lukaku has sent Chelsea and their fans into absolute chaos this past Thursday and Friday by recording an interview 3 weeks ago without club or manager permission, in which he stated that he missed his inter Milan and would be back, on top of many other things.

Thomas Tuchel was visibly itchy in his press conference on Friday afternoon when asked about what had happened, the manager stated “ We don’t like it, it brings noise we don’t need, we don’t want to make more out of it than it is, maybe it’s not what he meant, but i will tell you, I do not like it “ and “ We need focus, it don’t help us “

It's understood Thomas Tuchel will speak to Lukaku behind close doors and could potentially face disciplinary action by the club themselves as David Ornstein reported that the club were sent into " Crisis management Mode " on Thursday afternoon, they worked quickly to find out what had happened, his reasons and motives behind the interview, and wanted accurate translations of everything he said, as the interview was conducted in Italian.

So, what was actually bad about the interview? Well, here are a few quotes that got fans angry ..

“ Real Madrid, Barca and Bayern, these are the best clubs in football. Any player would dream of one day playing for them, I thought that I could make history at Inter and then go to one of those clubs “

“ If inter Milan accepted my contract extension, we wouldn't even be doing this interview in London, it would be in Milan, I knew I had a chance to win with Inzaghi “

“ Inter Milan have top directors but their fans are truly the best in the world, I miss Lautaro Martinez, I could die on the pitch with him “

“ What about together at Chelsea?

“ “ No, No, Stay, because I’ll be back “

Although Lukaku stated that his boyhood club was Chelsea and he hoped Milan fans understood why he left, Chelsea fans were rightly furious at the fact Lukaku said Milan fans are the best in the world, amongst the fact he went behind the manager that they all love's back.

In fact, i ran a poll over on my twitter to see if fans would be for or against booing him on Sunday's match against Liverpool, with results speaking for themselves, 66% voted yes.

It's not clear yet what Romelu will have to do to win the fans back, however what we can be sure about is that the interview was unprofessional, took place without any club confirmation, and the words he used to describe his old club really hurt Chelsea fans after thinking that he came back due to it being his dream, in his own words, he said it was only due to a lack of a new contract that he left in the first place, and was very happy in Italy.

We asked our writer CFCRan what he thought of the situation, here is what he had to say :

" I think the comments were inappropriate and he’s clearly speaking out due to the lack of form we’ve had especially against opponents we shouldn’t struggle against. Nonetheless it’s unacceptable nobody is bigger than the badge "

Should Lukaku face any disciplinary action?

" I think that needs to handled internally and normally a one match ban is what would need to happen, but he’s one of the few options we have as attacking threats. We have injuries and a ton of people trying get fit "

Chelsea Twitter Accounts react to Lukaku's actions :

CFCDaily has his say on the matter. (https://twitter.com/CFCDaily )

Will Reyner is upset at his actions, calling for an apology. (https://twitter.com/willreyner)

ConnCFC Calls Lukaku an idiot and says he has lost the respect of Chelsea fans whilst also not gaining the respect of inter fans, which was Lukaku's supposed motivation. https://twitter.com/ConnCFC

Alex Goldberg is disappointed but takes a more balanced view on the situation by saying he will be cheering him at the weekend and hopes he succeeds, for many Chelsea fans, that is no longer something that they wish to happen. https://twitter.com/AlexGoldberg_
